Nick'S Hidden Cottages Ubud By Mahaputra - Ubud (Bali)

The view was fine, but I had an ant problem in the bathroom.

The porter caught a massive spider for us and when we requested that he not kill it he picked it up in his hand and took it outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I was very sick while we were there and they helped us arrange emergency flights and transport.

We had trouble finding it because we were given a map that didn't have all the streets on it by the Perama shuttle people and were on foot. If we had caught a taxi it wouldn't have been a problem.

Very well decorated rooms on level 1 and superb bar area. Savoury and large selection for breakfast with fresh fruit. Extremely quiet and ideal location for Ubud, just next door to tropical jungle and rice fields, and a return ferry.

The luxurious, modern room featured excellent decor, complete with a kitchenette. The helpful staff provided personalized service, including arranging my airport taxi and even delivering fresh fruit when I missed breakfast. Although the pool was inviting, getting in and out was difficult due to the lack of stairs. Limited seating in the pool area during peak times could be improved, and the slippery tiles were also a concern.

The location was extremely quiet - within a walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. The service was exceptional and the pool was clean.

Nick's is a comfortable place for the money. Nice pool setting and Balinese archtecture make for an enjoyable stay set between ricefields & overlooking jungle. The rooms are spacious well kept and cleaned daily. The staff are fun and attentive and always try to please. Try speaking Indonesian and they are more fun! The breakfast choice was not large, eggs fresh fruit (usually 4 fruits), toast & coffee/tea but we did not go hungry. Sometimes not all the fruits were available which could disappoint. Still, my fourth time there & they remembered.

There was no lawns area to roam because it on the edge of the ricefields sloping to the jungle, but the gardens were beautifully landscaped and very attractive. An Indonesian breakfast choice would have been good.

The cute atmosphere made us feel at home.

The pool area had limited seating, frustrating. During breakfast, we often had to wait for a table. The breakfast options weren't to my taste, leaving me dissatisfied with the meals provided.

A bit far from the centre of town, rooms very sober.

Staying at Nick's Hidden Cottages felt special. The gorgeous views of the valley made every morning a delight. The pool area was refreshing, a perfect way to unwind after exploring Ubud. My room was spacious with beautiful decor, including a big balcony where I could enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The included breakfast had a few choices, but I found the American options average. Locations close to restaurants and the Monkey Forest increased convenience for daily outings. Getting to the hotel was a bit tricky due to its location. Crossing the rice field was charming but not practical for everyone. I faced some difficulties with the slippery tile floors, and the double bed felt less comfortable due to the gap between the two single beds. There were moments when staff seemed overwhelmed during breakfast rushes, leading to longer wait times for food. Despite these hiccups, the staff's attentiveness and cute nature were highlights of my stay were great.

Spacious rooms, clean, great location. Good addition to have drinks in the fridge. Our second visit and we weren't disappointed.

The setting, and the architecture of the buildings. Great, friendly staff, set amongst rice paddies.Buldings are gorgeous. Paradise!

Pillows, no jug or kettle in rooms, internet not in rooms, harsh chemical cleaning products (strong smelling).

The authentic Balinese style villas were charming. The bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed the refreshing pool surrounded by lush gardens. The proximity to the main town and Monkey Forest made exploring so convenient.

The stairs can be challenging.

The bathroom suffered from inadequate ventilation, rather uncomfortable!!! The hot water took an eternity to arrive. A few more umbrellas around the pool area would help too!!!

The staff were helpful and friendly, making my stay feel special.

The water pressure in the room was quite low, made showering a little inconvenient.
